Individuals looking to stop using crack or cocaine may be eligible to receive detoxification, therapy & medication at no cost for participating in a UTHealth Houston research study aimed at preventing relapse.

Over one million American adults suffer from cocaine use disorder (CUD) with recent trends showing an increase in cocaine-related deaths since 2010.
Our new study aims to help individuals to stop using crack/cocaine through a two-step process. Treatment includes a 5-day inpatient detox followed by a 12-week outpatient program.
Participants will receive individual therapy and medication treatment at no cost.
Our study aims to find better treatments for individuals looking to stop using crack/cocaine. Our researchers are looking to find ways to decrease the chance of relapse in those who use cocaine/crack.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
Use Crack and/or Cocaine & want to stop
18-65 years old
Our study provides brief inpatient (detox) and outpatient treatment for individuals who use cocaine/crack and want to stop.
Our study involves:
Medical and psychiatric screening visits
Brain imaging scans
Study medication
5-day inpatient detoxification
12 weeks of outpatient visits
1 follow-up visit
Financial compensation for participation and travel expenses
Participants will receive high-quality clinical care at no cost, along with compensation for their time and travel.
